Jeremy Hubbard has returned home to Colorado as anchor of FOX31 News Nightside and Colorado’s Channel 2 News at 7.
Hubbard comes back to Denver from ABC News in New York where he worked as an anchor and correspondent from 2007 to 2011. He was co-anchor of ABC’s overnight national newscasts, “World News Now” and “America This Morning,” and reported for “Good Morning America,” “World News with Diane Sawyer” and “Nightline,” traveling across the country to cover breaking news, severe weather, the economy and politics for the network.
Prior to his New York assignment, Jeremy worked for ABC News as a Chicago-based correspondent for NewsOne, the network’s affiliate news service, providing live reports for more than 200 affiliates across the country and around the world. While at ABC NewsOne, he covered breaking news stories including the 2007 Greensburg, Kansas tornado, the August 2007 collapse of the I-35W bridge in Minneapolis, and the Omaha mall shootings in December of that year.
Prior to joining ABC News, Jeremy was a reporter and anchor right here at KDVR in Denver. His first stint here was from 2004-2007, covering a variety of stories including the immigration issue. He traveled to the Mexican border, documenting the efforts of the controversial “Minuteman Project” to keep illegal immigrants from entering the US. Jeremy wrote, produced and anchored “Battle for the Border,” an award-winning documentary on the issue.
From 1998-2004, Jeremy worked at KMBC-TV in Kansas City, where he covered several high-profile national stories. He reported from Texas after the space shuttle Columbia disaster, and traveled to Terre Haute, IN for the execution of convicted Oklahoma City bomber Timothy McVeigh. He co-produced, co-wrote and anchored “Eye for an Eye,” an award-winning documentary about McVeigh’s execution.
Jeremy started his career at KWCH in Wichita, KS, where he attended college at Wichita State University.
He has been recognized with several honors for his reporting, including a national Edward R. Murrow Award from the Radio and Television News Directors Association, and the national Sigma Delta Chi award from the Society of Professional Journalists. He has also won three regional Edward R. Murrow Awards, and regional Emmy awards for both reporting and anchoring.
