KDVR FOX31 and KWGN Colorado’s Own Channel 2 in Denver are looking for a Production Manager with extensive knowledge of news studio and control room operations and technology for our state-of-the-art HD broadcast facility.
Technical Requirements;
The successful applicant will have in-depth knowledge of contemporary news control rooms and news studios. We are looking for someone with strong leadership skills who can establish and maintain high-quality production values, along with strong employee morale and a collaborative, innovative culture.
Responsibilities include all key functions related to the production of live newscasts in the mornings, evenings and weekends. Candidate must be willing to work a varied schedule in a
fast-paced, live production environment.
The Production Manager supervises and trains a staff of approximately 40 people, including directors, technical directors, audio operators, camera operators, teleprompter operators, floor directors and other personnel.
Familiarity with the latest digital production and video/graphics playout technology, contemporary production techniques, and best-practices.
Physical Requirements;
- Must be able to lift and carry up to a maximum of 70 pounds.
- Work at height using ladders, step-stools or other necessary equipment.
- Frequently bend, squat, crawl, and reach above shoulder level.
- Operate company vehicles (must maintain valid driver’s license and provide current driving record)
Qualifications;
- Minimum of 10 years experience with production department and/or newsgathering operations at a major market television station is required.
-Minimum of 2 years experience managing technical staff.
